R E I G N
WELCOME! I'M ISRAELJAH AND I'M SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
Originally from Columbus, Ohio, I found my passion for singing, acting, and dancing when I was in the fourth grade. I was the type of child that had many interests and wanted to try everything that I could. But once I was introduced to musical theatre, I was hooked--I couldn't see myself doing anything else. Much to my surprise, my mother had this dream of being in show business, but her strict religious background prevented her from being able to pursue that dream. So, when I got the role of Joan in the musical A Kid's Life that year in elementary school and I gave my mom the news, it was a moment of pride we would never forget!
Now I am following my passions by attending Kent State University for musical theatre (expected graduation 2023). I have gotten the pleasure to be a part of many productions with Kent State including HAIR in 2019 and In Pieces in 2020. I have also gotten the opportunity to work professionally with Porthouse Theatre as a Daughter in Quilters, Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors, and Celisse in Godspell!
When I am not on stage, I am most likely snuggling with my cat Solange, writing a song, leading an organization, or I am making a beautiful chai latte at Starbucks.
I have always been a firm believer that art should be used not only to entertain but also to inspire other human beings. My goal is to create a community of artists (specifically those of color), that have like-minded ideas of how art should be portrayed in the world. I want to empower POC women to be their authentic selves in a field that wants them to be anything but that. Lastly, I hope to serve as a voice for the unheard and as an image for the unseen-- telling stories that uplift the world in times of darkness.
THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY!
